KBR is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer that will be involved in the performance of assessments and vulnerability analysis of classified systems and networks. Identifies where those systems/networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy. Achieves this through passive evaluations (compliance audits) and active evaluations (vulnerability assessments). Involved in the establishment of strict program control processes to ensure mitigation of risk in support of the NISP Assessment & Authorization Life Cycle. This includes process support, analysis support, coordination support, security certification test support, security documentation support, investigations, software research, hardware introduction and release, emerging technology research inspections and periodic audits. Assists in the implementation of the required government policy (i.e., NISPOM, DAAPM, NIST 800-37, NIST SP 800-53), and makes recommendations on process tailoring. Involved in the validation of established security requirements and the recommendation of additional security safeguards. Supports the formal Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) required by each government accrediting authority through pre-test preparations, participation in the tests, analysis of the results, and preparation of required reports. Periodically conducts reviews of automated audit records, manual logs, and monitoring corrective actions until all actions are closed. Develops and improves detailed processes and procedures to ensure successes can be repeated and solutions to failures can be easily identified.

BS Degree in Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent experience. Advanced degree preferred. Typically possesses 4-6 years of experience. Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings. Able to apply technical expertise, and may have knowledge of other related disciplines. Work is performed under limited direction. Exercises latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work may be reviewed from a relatively long- term perspective, for desired results.
