Job Description:
Raytheon is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team in the integration/testing/support of the Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) system, a state-of-the-art system designed to enhance the Anti-Air Warfare (AAW) capability of ships and aircraft by the netting of battle force sensors to provide a single, distributed AAW defense capability. This system provides a real-time sensor netting capability that enables high quality situational awareness and integrated fire control capability. This engineer candidate will perform entry-level roles assisting CEC leadership and other systems engineers supporting software & hardware system integration & testing of the various CEC components. The candidate will also setup multiple complex simulation environments to support all lab testing.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Be a member of the Systems Engineering team responsible for the reliable integration/testing and setup of the CEC system and the environments for testing them
  • Participate in technical and process document reviews and resolve systems engineering and integration issues
  • Participate in technical interchange meetings with team members and other program personnel
  • Ensure completion of assigned tasks as directed by his/her immediate supervisor
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety requirements
  • Fault isolation in cable sets, network physical connections, media converters, and managed switches
  • Configure and maintain the test environment and network topologies
  • Use of analytical thinking and troubleshooting to resolve test environment issues

Required Skills:
  • General understanding of systems engineering processes and techniques
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office tools
  • General understanding of Networking (TCP/IP/UDP protocols, VLANS, and host/route tables)
  • Use of networking tools such as Wireshark
  • General System Administration skills for Unix/Linux environments
Desired Skills:
  • Exposure to requirements development, derivation and management
  • Exposure to integration of software and hardware subsystems
  • Exposure to security engineering concepts and practices
  • Exposure to the software development life cycle
  • Ability to research and distill data into meaningful information
  • Experience using MS Office Suite of tools
Required Education (including Major):
  • Requires a Bachelors' degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience.
