AECOM Mexico is currently recruiting an experienced Environmental Risk Assessor to join our Mexico City Environmental team and support oil and gas projects
The ideal candidate will be seeking a challenging and diverse role. He/she will be a key member of the team, assisting the company in increasing the ERA market share of the oil and gas sector in Mexico.
As Environmental Risk Assessor, the main responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Support the AECOM Mexico Environment Division, by leading the preparation of Environmental Risk Assessments for offshore exploratory drilling projects and other potential onshore oil and gas projects.
Deep knowledge and experience using the SEMARNAT/ASEA ERA guidelines.
Ability to work successfully with federal regulators on clarifying information about technical reports.
Mentor and coach junior staff on environmental risk assessments
Provide technical support in development of risk processes, procedures, strategies, management systems, proposals, and plans for clients.
Build strong relationships with other AECOM offices and target account clients.
Educated to degree level, or equivalent, in Chemical, Industrial, Environmental, or Petroleum Engineering.
5 to 10 years of relevant work experience in consulting or industry (Oil and Gas sector preferable).
Ability to work independently and communicate technical information effectively in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
Experience with process hazard and consequence analysis software (i.e., PHAST or equivalent).
Understanding and experience with hazards identification techniques (i.e., Bow Ties, HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA).
Knowledge of oil spill modelling, coastal sensitivity mapping, and oil spill response plans is preferable.
Able to handle multiple assignments with tight deadlines.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office software.
Bilingual preferred (Spanish/English; advanced).
