AECOM is actively seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS/SHE) Department Manager for immediate employment in the Morrisville, NC office. The appropriately qualified candidate will be responsible for managerial direction of the team as well as successful completion of technical projects.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provide work assignments to project teams and review performance to ensure efficient, cost effective utilization of staff, serve as a technical advisor to staff, and motivate personnel
Provide leadership via determining technical and professional staffing needs, and participation in training for new hires
Responsible for performing, overseeing, and coordinating technical and fiscal management aspects of mid-size to large projects.
Establish and maintain quality and accuracy standards.
Work cooperatively with other managers and employees to achieve company’s mission.
Supports business development efforts including presentations to customers and responding to customer request for bid documents.
Establish relationships with both external and internal clients and customers, including industry associations and other potential consultant team members.
Effectively respond to task order RFPs, deliver projects and broaden client relationships.
Position AECOM for pursuits that best fit our skill set and growth plans.
Lead the proposal development process including team formulation, Statement of Qualifications, Technical Proposals and Presentations.
Attend conferences and workshops to strengthen existing client relationships and establish new relationships; obtain an understanding of emerging technologies and market drivers.
Maintain a high local and regional profile.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science.
8+ years of experience in EHS compliance support for industrial sites.
3+ years of experience managing an EHS department or a large group of staff on a project.
Experience with Microsoft office suite including Word, Power Point, Excel and MS Project.
U.S. citizenship is required.
BS degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
PE license with the ability to obtain licenses across multiple states by reciprocity.
Holds a broad general knowledge of EHS management including compliance, audits, management programs, systems compliance and corrective actions. supporting multiple market sectors including government, industrial, manufacturing, commercial, healthcare, and life sciences.
Demonstrated problem solving skills.
Can-do, will-do attitude and ability to work in team-oriented organization.
Interact and communicate effectively with other team members and disciplines. Effective written and verbal communication skills are a must.
Experience with Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans and facility response plans (FRP) and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs).
Experience with EHS auditing and compliance protocols for regulated waste treatment, storage, disposal (TSD) and recycling facilities; TSCA inventories; RCRA-regulated hazardous waste management facilities and RCRA Part B Permit documentation; natural resource management plans; hazardous waste management plans; NPDES engineering permitting and compliance; site investigations; wastewater and storm water engineering, permitting and compliance; environmental due diligence and investigations; EHS program development; industrial safety, qualitative exposure assessments and industrial hygiene
Certified Professional Environmental Auditor (CPEA)
Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
Certified Environmental Trainer (CET), National Environmental, Safety and Health Training Association
Certifications for ISO 140001. 45001, 50001, and/or 31000
