Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Electrical Engineer for employment in our Buildings + Places practices in New York City and Boston, MA.

Our B+P team is leading the industry with visionary and forward-thinking projects such as the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, CA; Liberty Park at the World Trade Center, New York, NY; the Lower Manhattan Coastal Resilience (Big U), NY; and the LA 2024 Olympic bid.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Perform design functions including sizing electrical equipment, calculation wire and conduit sizes, performing system load calculations, edit specifications and provide lighting, power and fire alarm design layouts for electrical systems.

  • Lead and prepare the technical design on projects for client review.

  • Incorporate strong working knowledge of engineering codes and standards.

  • Coordinate with the team and support cross discipline colleagues per direction of project leads

  • Effectively manage time spent on multiple projects simultaneous

Minimum Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university and 6+ years relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of education/experience

  • Must have specific experience in designing power, lighting and fire alarm systems for commercial buildings.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills and use of tools such as MS Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit

  • PE License

  • Experience working on educational and retail project is preferred
