Job Summary

  • Assist with the development and guidance of junior team members

  • Assess traffic flows

  • Produce complex and detailed LinSig and Transyt models

  • Show technical leadership, and through experience, mentor and guide the skills of others in computer based applications and tasks including the use of software such as LinSig, Transyt, AutoCAD including KeySIGNALS and MSProject.

  • Produce detailed AutoCAD KeySIGNALS drawings

  • Prepare MCH1827b / TR2500 traffic signal controller specifications

  • Create MOVA Data-sets and perform MOVA Validation for complex linked junctions

  • Prepare and deliver detailed progress presentations

  • Prepare UTC / PC SCOOT plans

  • Undertake Health & Safety duties including ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for the project team members and fulfilling all responsibilities for health and safety in design and out of office works

  • Act as a Project Manager (once accredited) as necessary including monitoring financial performance. This includes both AECOM Project Management and overall Project Management for the client

  • Ensure technical content and quality of output produced is in line with the Clients project brief.

  • Manage deliverables against agreed timescales and in line with budget

  • Attend/lead project progress meetings and to a wider audience when required

  • Prepare detailed client brief response or fee proposals for Manager approval, and contribute to major bids

  • Provide technical input, technical leadership and project management across a range of specialisms in the field of traffic signals

  • Report on a variety of tasks providing as an individual or through team effort, a range of design and written deliverables

  • Plan, lead and undertake site visits, as required

  • Plan and attend meetings – internal and external, as required

  • Liaise with sub-consultants and external parties, as required

  • Participate as a team member on a number of levels, including; office discipline and project

  • Be proactive and contribute to a safer work environment

Minimum Requirements

Minimum requirements:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline

  • ITS and Highway design with experience in the traffic signal design

  • Conversant and competent with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Technically sound experience with the ability to mentor and guide the skills of others in computer based applications and tasks including the use of software such as LinSig, Transyt, AutoCAD including KeySIGNALS and MSProject

  • Familiar with relevant Health and Safety regulations and to promote a culture of awareness within the team

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HND Civil Engineering and similar discipline

  • Incorporated Engineer with a suitable institute
