Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Pipefitter Foreman to join our IOL Kearl project team at Fort Mackay, Alberta. This is a Temporary position on a 6 day on, 1 day off rotation.

Steamfitter – pipefitters lay out, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes. Pipefitters also remove and replace worn components, do general maintenance work and may work on plant shut-downs.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of functional operation of various piping system components by measuring, cutting, threading, grooving and bending of pipes, valves and fittings.

  • Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes.

  • Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair pressurized piping systems.

  • Hydrotest and install fabricated pipe spools within structural steel modular assemblies, adding designed supports as required.

  • Use testing equipment effectively to check for system leaks and troubleshoot fitting errors.

  • Maintain all tools, work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.

  • Read and interpret client and company supplied construction fabrication drawings and specifications.

  • Red-line update drawings to an as-built condition.

  • Follow various AECOM and Client policies & procedures including adherence to requirements of ISO 9001-2000.

  • Supervise, schedule and maintain work assignments

Conditions of Employment for this position are:

  1. For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Background Check policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, the role must complete a satisfactory pre-employment Background Check. This may consist of all or a combination of the following: Canadian Criminal Record check, an Employment Verification and/or an Education and Accreditation Verification.

  2. Qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, a position must provide evidence of a satisfactory Alcohol & Drug test in accordance with the Company's Alcohol & Drug Policy. In order to be valid, the test must have been conducted at the direction of AECOM - O&G Business Unit.

Minimum Requirements

  • Certified Red Seal/ Alberta Journeyman Pipefitter

  • Previous crew supervisory / lead experience is required

  • Able to manage multi-trade crews

  • Construction Safety Training Systems - 09 (CSTS-09) Certification required

  • First Aid - Standard Level Certification

  • This position will be required to drive a vehicle on behalf of AECOM and therefore will require the candidate to submit a satisfactory driver's abstract for review
