Within our Software environment a Quality Engineer can expect to do the following:

  • Apply advanced software quality practices, principles, theories, concepts and techniques associated with the evaluation of software, firmware and configurable logic development for embedded multi-processor systems, and test systems.
  • Assist in developing solutions to unusually complex technical software quality problems using established quality practices. Works as a self starter. Follows and/or recommends changes to department processes and procedures. Reviews software products and processes for compliance to contract requirements, software directives and reviews work practices for adequacy. Interacts with senior product development and test personnel through both written and verbal communication. Has knowledge of emerging software quality technologies.
  • Conduct and document reviews of engineering materials related to the design and release of software artifacts. Supports development of advanced software quality measurements, and influences the successful completion of supported programs and projects.


Looking for college candidates who have mature skills and competencies in one or more of the following product domains:

  • Embedded software

  • Firmware and Configurable Logic

  • Test Equipment software

  • Modeling and Simulation software

  • Supplier software


Required Skills:

  • Education of high order programming languages

  • Familiarity with the development processes of software, firmware and/or configurable logic

  • Education in conducting software quality assessments of software products and artifacts

  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience collaborating in a team environment/school projects

  • Must be able to obtain a DoD issued Secret security clearance



Desired Skills:

  • Knowledgeable with CMM / CMMI practices

  • Practical experience with static analysis tools

  • Familiarity with Agile and continuous integration

  • Familiar with Six Sigma practices to continuously improve software systems

  • Familiarity with Quality Management System requirements based on AS9100C and AS9115

  • Practical experience with Test Systems and/or Test Equipment software


Required Education (including Major):
B.S. in one of the following: Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical & Computer Science Engineering, Systems Engineering. Most current transcripts must be uploaded when applying to this position.



Clearance:
This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.
