Energetics Support Specialist Technician

This position is for an Energetics Support Technician who will be located in the Raytheon Albuquerque facility, Albuquerque, New Mexico. He/she will report to the Raytheon ABQ Energetics Value Stream Lead within RMS Operations, Energetics Integration Make Center (EIC). The EIC and Raytheon ABQ’s goal is to achieve “No Doubt” solutions and instill confidence in our customers by producing and providing consistently reliable products in a safe and efficient manner

Job Description
Energetic, self-motivated individual responsible for the Energetics Operations support and developmental technical activities which include operational actions supporting both production and developmental programs. This individual will help ensure fabrication of high quality and compliant deliverable products. The following responsibilities are included in this position.

Major responsibilities:
  • Work proficiently within a both a production factory environment as well as a developmental laboratory
  • Work within and support of a quality significant culture for all levels of activities.
  • Provide daily input and feedback on performance to Value Stream Lead
  • Documentation of all quality related activities including production, development, inventory control and maintenance
  • Safe handling of energetic materials
  • Metrology/inspection of incoming, in-process, and outgoing material
  • Welding and Powder Pressing
  • Physical vapor deposition, photolithography, and vacuum systems
  • Kitting and preparation of components for production
  • Supporting the calibration of various laboratory equipment
Required Education/Skills:
  • High school, secondary school or equivalent
  • Identify and communicate both problems and viable solutions to leadership
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, PQR1060 and EHSS requirements
  • Must be a self-starter, work proactively to prevent problems, demonstrate flexibility, and have the ability to multitask across a variety of programs
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and document activities consistent with quality requirements
  • Effective communication within a team
  • Ability to secure and maintain a Secret Level U.S. DoD Clearance
  • Desire for continual improvement and learning
  • Attention to detail
Desired Skills/Experience:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field
  • Experience with a Quality Management System that maintained an AS9100 or PQR1060 certificate/registration
  • Experience working in a laboratory and factory environment
  • Experience conducting hazardous operations
  • Familiarity with working on and troubleshooting vacuum systems, electrical and mechanical systems, and instrumentation
  • Experience handling and working with energetic materials and components
  • Ability to fabricate test fixtures, special tooling, and prototypes by utilizing the machine and weld shops
  • Strong work ethic, focused on balancing safety and quality with customer satisfaction, and extremely high attention to detail
