The Air Warfare Systems (AWS) Product Line Business Development Strategy Manager will report to the AWS Product Line Business Development Executive. This position will be responsible for partnering with the Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS) Business Development Strategy team, RMS product lines and RTN business units. In this capacity the successful candidate will develop and execute strategies focused on mission solutions to address various domestic and international customer requirements to meet financial objectives and achieve growth. In this capacity, the position will focus on long-term strategic opportunities driving cross RTN collaboration and alignment, facilitating integration of technical road maps, developing growth plans and proliferating a solid pipeline of business opportunities. In addition, the position will be responsible for leading, developing and managing key customer relationships and work to align the AWS portfolio of products to solve key customer requirements and emerging opportunities.

This position requires the ability to effectively collaborate with senior leadership across all RMS Product Lines and the Enterprise. The AWS Strategy Lead will formulate, coordinate and de-conflict strategies and for transition to the appropriate program for execution.

This position supports the creation of the vision for the AWS product line to ensure RMS is positioned for future domestic and international growth based the current and future market environment. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Leveraging AWS Product Line portfolio with other RMS product lines, RTN business units, US BD, and RII Corporate Strategy to create mission solutions for customer needs
  • Developing detailed understanding of customer needs, buying power, and market dynamics
  • Partnering to develop Product Line 5-year and growth plans, as well as review and management of the Product Line ERPM growth pipeline
  • Generating and tracking Product Line capture priorities and AOP forecasts
  • Interfacing with Product Line Finance on leading indicator and BD metrics generation
  • Coordinating with Product Line Legislative Affairs including coordination of the Product Line congressional priorities
  • Assisting/Preparing and managing Product Line NBI Budgets with PL leadership from a strategic perspective
  • Publishing periodic reports for the BD team as well as Product Line and RMS leadership.
Required Skills
The successful candidate will have:
  • Minimum 12 years of progressively responsible related career experience, demonstrating ability to acclimate to increasing levels of responsibility (i.e. strategic planning, business development, program management)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DoD Acquisition, FMS, and DCS processes, as well as all licensing, ITAR and offset requirements
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Ability to establish and cultivate relationships with customers including the US Military operational commands, development labs and acquisition agencies
  • Experience in dealing with international partners including their customs, military needs and acquisition processes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the strategic process & its elements, including solid understanding of defense policy, diplomatic relations, political economy, and international landscape
  • Proven track record of customer engagement and relationship-building
  • Demonstrated success working self-directed in a matrix organization to drive results through collaboration, teamwork and influencing skills to develop and achieve shared goals
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; commands presence and ability to demonstrate business and technical acumen. Demonstrated experience articulating customer positions, status and strategies to senior management.
  • Ability to gain a clear understanding of the complete kill chain and RTN platforms and solutions.
Required Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree (Business, Economic, Political Science/International Affairs, Engineering, or related field)


Desired Skills:
  • Existing DoD Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Sufficient technical background to adequately represent the company‚Äôs products.
  • Acute listening skills with ability to effectively sort facts, demonstrating sound judgment and effective decision making
  • Business acumen for identifying new profitable business opportunities and making
  • Has the ability to prioritize what is a critical pursuit for the business
  • Familiarity with IPDS process and gate reviews
  • Program Manager and/or Capture Manager Certification
