Job Description

Join GDIT and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges.

We are looking for a Senior Software Developer who is proficient in C++. This individual will need to participate in the conversion of FORTRAN model code to C++ for a USAF project. In addition, this individual may be working on a team addressing uncertainty quantification for a given set of software models. A part of a distributed team, the engineer will need to coordinate with the rest of the team to collaboratively problem solve and produce a quality product. The position can be located at Dayton, OH OR Albuquerque, NM.

Responsibilities include:

  • Build and maintain efficient, reusable and reliable C++ code
  • Convert FORTRAN code to C++. Good understanding of C#
  • Design and build new C++ libraries for uncertainty quantification and other efforts
  • Use Microsoft Visual Studio as the integrated development environment
  • Use TFS for source control and task management
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality and responsiveness of applications and services
  • Test finished code to ensure quality
  • Document code

Candidates will be considered for remote work.

Education

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proficient in C++
  • Experience in C#
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming
  • Experience writing reusable C++ libraries
  • Experience with SQL Server
  • Experience writing unit tests
  • Experience with source control
  • This position requires the ability to attain a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance
