Job Summary

As a Senior Project Manager you will be expected to work with the Project Director and the wider Project Management discipline to successfully manage and deliver a broad range of projects.

Job Duties:

  • Assist in the delivery of Project Management commissions, taking responsibility for their successful delivery

  • Ensure commissions are managed to the right quality standards and are completed efficiently and on time

  • Produce recognised project management documentation and tools which aid the delivery of schemes. This includes, but is not limited to Project Management Plans, Risk Registers, Contract management trackers, schedules or programmes.

  • Strong relationships are developed with clients and members of the cross-functional team

  • Business development opportunities with existing and new clients, including cross- selling opportunities, are identified and acted upon

  • Be the primary interface with AECOM clients (New and Existing)

  • Provide leadership within project management business and provide leadership and mentoring to the team

  • Engage with and support the technical excellence agenda within the project management discipline

  • Ensure all staff members reporting to you have current and relevant training

  • Manage the delivery of project management team outputs, in accordance with agreed time-scales and quality standards

  • Co-ordination and quality approval of all information produced by teams prior to issue

  • Management of tender documents, appraisals and negotiations

Specific Skills Required:

  • Good working knowledge of NEC3 / NEC4 contracts or similar

  • Built environment and project experience covering at least one of the following; infrastructure, defence, commercial developments and/or education

Manages one or more complex projects, involving a combination of the following:

  • Clients with a national geographic footprint;

  • Projects involving multidisciplinary teams;

  • Other complexities, such as projects that involve litigation, environmental protection, due diligence, etc.

  • Manages all phases of projects (from beginning to close out).

  • Manages and leads others.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience as a Project Manager in a comparable business.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have a degree in Project Management/ Construction/Engineering/Quantity Surveying

  • Professional status with the RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE or other equivalent institution

  • Evidence of project management specific training
