About the role

We are seeking applications from experienced and enthusiastic learning and development professionals looking to further their career within in a Defence environment.

Roles may be offered on either a full-time, fixed term or ongoing basis and represent genuine opportunities in Canberra.

About You

As a Training Developer within KBR’s Modelling, Simulation and Training Solutions business, you will identify client needs and from that, design and develop interventions that produce viable outcomes from client concepts. To do this, you will work as part of a dynamic project team, conducting analysis, design and development of contemporary Defence Learning Management Packages (LMPs).

This is a challenging role, which will require you to be an autonomous, high-performing self-starter, who offers well established training development experience and skills. Working to strict timelines, you will need to rapidly integrate into the existing team and start producing high quality products in a short period of time.

Your Responsibilities

If successful, you will be expected to:

  • conduct performance needs analysis to determine the needs of the client and project requirements
  • consult with key stakeholders and utilize subject matter expertise to develop learning a management packages
  • plan and execute the design and/or development of a complete learning management package across multiple delivery methods (eLearning, instructor led etc.) in accordance with project and stakeholder requirements
  • manage content and/or document review cycles with stakeholders and subject matter experts
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and facilitate meetings and design/development workshops.

You will be an Australian Citizen who currently holds or has the ability to obtain an Australian Defence security clearance, and demonstrated competencies such as:

  • a well-developed knowledge of adult learning theories and principles in the context of capability development (vocational or tertiary qualifications in adult education, L& D or similar are highly desirable)
  • experience in the application of SADL processes and procedures, in the context of capability development within the Australian Defence environment
  • an awareness of current blended learning components such as part-task trainers, simulators or virtual training devices
  • strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams
  • well developed verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • demonstrated high level negotiation and persuasion skill
