GDIT is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA.  Responsibilities include:

  • Integrate new applications onto an IT platform
  • Work with new customers to provision IT and cloud infrastructure
  • Create automated infrastructure scripts as necessary (Terraform, Cloud formation….)
  • Work with AWS to define custom policies and roles
  • Work with developers to setup OS and AWS privileges as necessary
  • Help architect IT solutions for customers and assist with platform onboarding
  • Participates in special projects as required.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • 5 years of related systems engineering experience
  • Prefer previous experience with Chef or Puppet
  • Knowledge of AWS and cloud provisioning
  • Experience with RedHat/Unix, CENTOS and security hardening
  • Able to work with developers and government customers

Desired:

  • Agile software tools and processes
  • Integration or use of: BitBucket, Jenkins, Junit, SonarQube, Fortify, Nexus, Cucumber, Selenium, ServiceNow, CHEF, CA API, JIRA, Confluence, TestRail

Certifications:

Must possess appropriate current DoD Information Assurance (IA) Certification to be considered for employment, either CompTIA Security+ OR CCNA-Security. CompTIA Security+ is the preferred certification. Must attain the required DoD 8570 Computing Environment (CE) Certification within six (6) months of Hire Date.

 

As part of your role/function on the program, you will be granted privileged user access. Privileged Users are subject to greater scrutiny as a direct result of the significant responsibilities placed upon them. Please be aware that because of these critical duties, you will be subject to additional IT system monitoring, and supervisory evaluation to ensure continuous adherence to Privileged User processes and procedures. Privileged Users are subject to a zero tolerance policy for security violations.

Education:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
