ManTech is establishing a West Coast recruiting presence to extend the reach of our outstanding recruiting team beyond the capital beltway - to better support our contract interests on the “left coast” particularly focused within the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC), Los Angeles Air Force Base.  We are investing in people, tools and technologies to establish our corporate employment branding - and to attract exceptional talent with unique expertise - which sets ManTech’s capabilities apart from all others. Our Recruiters are full cycle, but we have a coordinator team to support you and a sourcing team that focuses on building talent pools for our go-to skill sets.  We are looking for the right energetic, experienced, creative recruiting expert who is self-motivated in seeking out and matching qualified candidates for highly technical roles.  

About you:

You thrive off of filling tough requisitions. You blend a mix of elegant sourcing techniques, excellent closing skills, grit, and a dash of business acumen together to produce results that hiring managers need.  You’re also a leader, you are proactive and a self-starter, you help your teammates and share your knowledge.  Your background and experience should include Engineering, HR and Talent Acquisition for major aerospace companies, consulting firms, government or the military.  You should have deep knowledge of aerospace industry hiring and retention processes and US and international space and Launch Vehicle Production Services.  A SHRM / SHRM-SCP professional would be preferred.

As a Senior Technical Recruiter, you will:

  • Manage a funded requisition load of 10 - 15 active requisitions
  • Consult with hiring managers, craft detailed and compelling job descriptions, determine effective screening questions, and post requisitions
  • Source talent by utilizing the ATS (Workday), job boards, postings, referrals, and attending events
  • Consult with candidates, find out what drives them and guide them through the hiring process
  • Screen talent to ensure candidates are: qualified, cultural fits, and fully vetted for their interest in the role
  • Submit applicants to hiring managers and schedule interviews, assist hiring managers in the decision process and act as liaison between hiring managers and the candidates
  • Negotiate offers, prepare offer letter requests, and follow-up to ensure success
  • Attend, coordinate and sometimes lead meetings with hiring managers
  • Work on special projects as assigned; including proposal support, new contract transitions, corporate projects including process improvement, or innovation initiatives
  • Support travel for site visits, career fairs, or contract transitions (travel percentage is 5% - 10%)
  • Develop processes/products to assess candidates and track/recommend qualified candidates that could contribute to different hiring managers’ teams.


  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Engineering, Business Administration, Human Resources, Communications, or a related field, commensurate experience may be considered
  • Must have five or more years of recruiting experience in the government contracting industry; experience in sale, pre-deployment, or a recruiting coordinator role will be considered
  • Experience in technical recruiting is strongly preferred
  • Business acumen, an understanding of program operations and finance and how this role contributes to the business
  • Must be confident and capable of respectfully advocating for timely actions and decisions from hiring managers
  • Must be motivated to excel, competitive in nature, does not confuse effort with results
  • Proficient with Microsoft office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Due the types of projects you will work on and have access to, U.S. citizenship is required

Activities could also include:

  • Proactive outreach to colleges, universities, military and civil professional societies, internship events, retiree events, trade shows, social media, layoffs events, print advertising, media advertising, etc., including management of overhead funding to involve existing employees as spokespersons.
  • Securing corporate funding for and development and implementation of retention and morale support, including employee recognition, financial recognition, merit recommendations, distribution of team building materials, team events, career training, family support and support for customer events.
  • Advising hiring managers and supervisors to craft work activities to encourage retention.
  • Documenting processes, on site collaboration with hiring managers and supervisors, collection evaluation and distribution of resume results, structured and informal interviews, and selection recommendations.
