The Hardware Engineering Center currently has a need for a Section Manager (SM) in the Electronic Products Development Support Department (EPDS) in McKinney, TX. The ECAD Section Manager will lead a group of 10 - 15 tech support engineers and PCB designers performing a variety of design tasks such as PWB /CCA layout design support, schematic capture, part creation, producibility checks and design engineering support.Products include ground, airborne, shipboard and space level electronics systems from concept thru detailed design, and to build and test phases. The Section Manager is responsible for all aspects of section leadership including: staffing, staff development, training, tool and process development and deployment, administration of performance appraisals, merit increases and promotions. Also will be responsible and accountable for the work products produced within the section. The Section Manager must maintain positive customer relationships and satisfaction with Program Managers, Integrated Product Team Leads (IPTL), and other engineering discipline stakeholders. The SM will support direct engagement with Programs to ensure timely execution of Work Products assigned to staff members including facilitation of personnel and resources to achieve milestones on-time and within allotted budget. Assists IPTLs with peripheral issues that impede program progress, allowing core staff to concentrate on their Work Products at hand. Participates in bidding activity, preparing EAC's, Program Gate reviews and independent Peer reviews of all Work Products. Performs day-day management duties including program staffing (assigns work), personnel administration, performance and salary merit reviews, timecard authorizations, preparation for and conducting of staff meetings.
10+ years of experience in PCB design or electronics packaging within the defense and aerospace industry.Leadership role in a design organization, managing tasking for greater than 5 engineers/designers. Subject Matter Expertise and Knowledge and proficiency in the use of standard tools for PCB design. Specifically Mentor Expedition.
Ability to obtain DoD clearances.Knowledge of defense related electronic HW products, technologies, and processes.Strong written and oral communication skills. Able to effectively juggle multiple tasks and priorities.
BS or BA degree or equivalent in Engineering, Engineering Technology or other
