Job Description: The Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, Systems Mission Area in Raytheon Space & Airborne Systems, seeks a Systems Engineer I to provide technical support and analysis to the sense and avoid radar team. The position will reside in the System Engineering Integration & Test Center (SEIT). This systems engineer will work amongst other Systems Engineers and will support the chief engineer, and lead systems engineer. Specific duties may include performance analysis, algorithm development, algorithm analysis, trade study generation, statistical modeling, performance predictions, and data analysis, for complex systems using Raytheon Engineering processes and practices. Related day-to-day duties include: performance analysis, and resolving identified problems. This individual will interface with their team lead, team members, and other teams on a daily basis, conduct or participate in customer and/or program presentations, and provide task progress status updates and work products to the team lead.
Job Related Activities:
Using MATLAB to model radar algorithms
Using tools to model radar performance
Work with leadership and/or customers to elicit objectives and requirements and resolve technical issues
Participate in customer reviews and program technical reviews
Ensure the consistent application of engineering best practices and all activities undertaken under your control are conducted to common standards in accordance with Raytheon's IPDS processes
Using Raytheon 6 Sigma proactively to foster a culture of continuous process improvement
Strong mathematical problem solving ability
Experience in any of the following areas: Signal Processing, Image Processing, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance, Radar Systems
Strong interpersonal communication, presentation skills, verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated capability of completing and following established procedures and schedules
Ability to work as a member of a dedicated team reporting to an algorithm integrated product team
This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
US Citizenship required as this position requires a clearance within the first 12 months of employment
Active Secret or Top Secret clearance
Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (Please upload an unofficial transcript when applying)
Required Education: M.S Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Related discipline;by summer 2020 or have graduated within 18 months prior to start date. 145106
