Power Production Technician
Under direct supervision of the Power Production Site Lead the Power Production Technician shall perform assigned daily work as required. Explain instructions and documentation to plan work activities. Helps coordinate movement of materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work site. Completes and reviews records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various cleanup activities. Job may require moderate to heavy lifting. Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
Requires qualification minimum a 5 years’ experience in medium voltage, basic knowledge in SCADA operating systems, basic knowledge in DSLC/MSLC load synchronization, and HDMI e-net communications between the generators on the grid. Requires basic introduction in generator’s and load protective relays, basic operation and maintenance procedures in step up transformers, pad mounted switches, SF6 switches, and other medium voltage equipment that operates voltages up to 11,000V.
Need to be able to understand winding diagrams, cause of reverse power, overcurrent faults, discharge of static electricity techniques, etc.
Power Production Technician must be able to fluently read, write, speak and understand English and have knowledge of: Principles of electronics and electricity, including generation, conversion, transformation, distribution, and utilization; types, capacity, and purpose of medium voltage circuits, circuit breakers, switches, fuses, regulators, relays, instruments, and meters associated with electric generation and medium voltage distribution; interpreting instrument and meter readings; wiring diagrams, schematics, drawings and technical publications; techniques of operating and maintaining internal combustion engines, Generators, generating plants, distribution panels, and accessory equipment; use and purpose of test equipment; safety rules and practices; environmental policies; principles of management; and operation and repair of electrical power production systems. Experience with operating and maintaining Generators ranging from 1000 to 14,000 kilowatts desired. Employment may require movement to two different sites located in different countries
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of experience.
