Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Preconstruction Manager for immediate employment for a project in Seattle, WA. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Oversees the construction management estimating work in the preparation of large and complex project estimates which will be used for the control of budgets, bid preparation, and/or other purposes.

  • Determines the use of resources to meet schedules and goals.

  • Works on projects of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors including an understanding of current business trends.

  • Acts as an advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.

  • Provides estimates for each project phase: conceptual, schematic design, design development and construction documents

  • Prepares detailed cost estimates via industry accepted methods such as RS Means for small and large projects. Estimates shall be provided in UNIFORMAT II and CSI format

  • Ability to concentrate in one or more of the estimating disciplines including architecture, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, civil and structural

  • Oversee consultants and contractors work to ensure compliance with applicable design criteria and standards

  • Manage selection and procurement of design and construction teams

  • Manages more complex projects that tend to be larger in scope and dollar, thereby increasing the potential for larger change orders and consequences of error.

  • May act independently as the IE representative with consulting firms and ensures that the final product reflects the original scope and budget requirements.

  • Manages projects which have greater complexity than a Program Manager III

  • Increasing responsibility for leadership of direct reports.

Minimum Requirements

  • 8+ years' experience

  • Must have an understanding of construction means, methods, and sequences

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, Requests-for-Proposals and contracts

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of related experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management

  • Ability to generate project construction schedules

  • Knowledge of On-Screen-Takeoff a plus

  • Ability to use CAD software
