AECOM Construction Services have a wide portfolio of projects across Australia, including major Infrastructure, Defence, Aviation, Education and Healthcare. We are currently looking to fill a key and influential Director role to work closely with our internal Independent Review & Verification (IR&V) teams and external State Government Authorities on a variety of major road infrastructure projects across Australia.

A suitable Director in AECOM Construction Services will work closely with our clients to provide tailor-made Review, Verification and Quality solutions to meet specified client requirements throughout project lifecycle, while developing key relationships across major projects.

The Role

AECOM Construction Services are looking for a proven leader in IR&V to work closely with internal project teams and provide a thorough quality perspective on a variety of major infrastructure projects in road and rail throughout Australia.

As a suitable Industry Director, you will operate effectively across internal and external stakeholder groups and be a known trusted advisor in Quality and Review of major civil infrastructure projects, while also being capable of developing a professional IR&V team around you and utilising your networks across Government clients.

You will be expected to create and build professional relationships with stakeholders and clients, while providing an integrated service to our global AECOM brand across major projects. Therefore you can expect to be involved in all stages of a project lifecycle and assist clients in Contract Administration, Quality Management, Risk, Project Management and Construction Review.

Minimum Requirements

This opportunity will enable a suitable Director to step in to the thriving AECOM group of Construction Services and work closely with clients in successful delivery of their major road infrastructure projects.

This role is a key role in providing IR&V services to support some of Australia’s most exciting infrastructure projects, while supporting AECOMs integrated service capability and will therefore require the following expertise;

  • Bachelor in Civil Engineering or similar

  • 15 years + experience across Australian civil infrastructure projects and a proven background in leading IR&V as a client representative

  • Excellent ability to build relationships and rapport with clients, internal project teams and external stakeholders with a proven network across Australian infrastructure projects

  • Technical confidence in reviewing D&C Contractor’s Project Plans relating to construction management

  • Ability to drive stakeholder groups towards their contractual obligations and ensure commercial protection while ensuring best quality management to clients

  • A proven client facing background in supplying Quality, Risk, Compliance, Review and Verification services as a trusted advisor

  • Prior experience in leading and building teams strong preferable

  • Leadership and mentoring experience in a technical project team environment

  • Expert knowledge of State Government procedures, contract administration and quality frameworks essential

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proactive Project Management mindset, with a motivation to improve projects, people and performance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in leading and building teams strong preferable

  • 10 years + experience as client IR&V representative strongly desirable
