Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services, located in Richardson, Texas (Cityline) is looking for a candidate to join our world-class engineering team as a Pipeline Software Architect.

Job Description: The Pipeline Software Architect will be assigned to a program primarily within the Global Intelligence Solutions (GIS) mission area where they will have the opportunity to influence and lead an integrated development team toward an agile and DevOps proficient environment. The architect candidate is expected to be accountable for refining software requirements, providing development estimates, designing & implementing software and managing timeline commitments. The selected candidate will also provide architectural designs and technical leadership to the software team. A demonstrable understanding of software principles, theories, and concepts related to software engineering (including software development lifecycle and software development process), should also be within the experience scope of the candidate.

The selected candidate must have an active TS/SCI clearance.

This position is eligible for a Sign on Bonus up to $40K for a candidate with a current TS/SCI clearance that can be verified and hired at Raytheon.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Strong and effective communication skills in both written and verbal formats
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes
  • Investigate and resolve support issues
  • Contribute to the program continuous process improvements
  • Work with minimal day to day guidance; independently
  • Have the ability to work as a part of a cross-functional engineering team
  • Partner with managers and stakeholders to drive projects forward
  • Implement new business requirements as well as migrate legacy applications to new technologies.

Required Skills:
  • Experience designing and developing pipeline architectures
  • 8+ years of experience in delivering high quality, innovative applications and programming (Java, C++, etc.)
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work well in a complex team environment
  • Experience working with multiple cross product level teams
  • Experience using SOAP-based and RESTful web services
  • Experience with relational and NonSQL databases
  • Experience with AWS and cloud based deployments

Desired Skills:
  • Experience developing and deploying micro-services
  • Experience with frameworks such as Spring or Spring Boot
  • Experience with Mongo DB or other NonSQL databases
  • Experience with container services tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with queueing frameworks such as RabbitMQ and Kafka queues
  • Experience with continuous integration, unit testing, and automated testing.
  • Experience using agile methodologies for development
Required Education (including Major):
8+ years with BS in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
