Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Safety Advisor to join our team at our IOL Sarnia project site in Sarnia, ON.

Develops and manages SH&E programs for the company, business lines, regions, and/or clients. Provides leadership and support to Operations to help the organization achieve SH&E goals and objectives. Assists the business to meet regulatory requirements relating to specific SH&E obligations e.g. trained SH&E professionals in business/projects, officer duties, statutory reporting etc.

  • Under direct supervision, performs basic and routine duties in a wide range of environmental, health and safety disciplines to achieve compliance with the ES&H standards along with federal and state regulatory requirements.

  • Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of safety and health programs, systems and procedures.

  • Assists in monitoring hazards and diseases that could be present in the work area.

  • Works with others to investigate accidents, injuries and complaints concerning hazards in the workplace.

  • Participates in recommending improvement in processes, design, procedures and equipment to minimize hazards.

  • Participates in employee training, emergency preparedness and assures the quality of programs.

  1.   2. Qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, a position must provide evidence of a satisfactory Alcohol & Drug test in accordance with the Company's Alcohol & Drug Policy. In order to be valid, the test must have been conducted at the direction of AECOM - O&G Business Unit.

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma / Certificate degree

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Knowledge of Safety, Health, and Environment administration concepts, practices, and procedures

  • Proficient in MS office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • IEC BSO PLUS ticket

  • LPS knowledge/experience is an asset

  • Driver's License and a clean driver's abstract required
