Job Summary

This is a remote position with 10% travel.

We are seeking a Cloud Engineer – Global Cloud Services for our Global IT Operations team who will report to the Senior IT Manager of Global Cloud Services.

The engineer is largely focused on ensuring that the AECOM multi-cloud infrastructure is secure, highly available, and meets performance standards and service levels for the global businesses. This person will work closely with key vendors and business stakeholders to ensure successful cloud migrations, new deployments and transition into operational steady state.

MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Provides technical leadership for designing, developing and implementing IT Cloud Services in a multi-cloud environment.

  • Design and architect IT cloud infrastructures which are reliable, secure, cost efficient, and strategically sound, reflecting business needs and best practice in creating value for the business and our customers.

  • Ensure the availability and performance of AECOM cloud hosting environments in accordance with business application requirements.

  • Provide support for planned and unplanned infrastructure system outages.

  • Ensure cloud based business critical applications are engineered with the appropriate resilience, and disaster recovery configurations are tested.

  • In partnership with IT Security, ensure that all cloud hosted environments are engineered in accordance with InfoSec security policies and appropriate security testing is performed.

  • Participate in compliance activities to include tracking plans, coordinating testing and maintaining action plans for audits both internal and external.

  • Conduct the installation, testing, and operation of new cloud services

  • As needed, participate in client presentations and pursuits where technology is a key differentiator.

  • Work with Change Management to ensure all changes are properly vetted and approved before implementation

  • Proactively seek out ways to mitigate technology risk and implement automation

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree plus eight (8) years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Microsoft O365 cloud hosting environments preferred.

  • Current AWS certification is preferred although solid demonstrated experience with EC2, VPC, S3, Route 53, Elastic Beanstalk, RDS, Lambda, RDS, and Storage Gateway would meet requirements.

  • Experience with development and automation tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins, Python, Docker, and Kubernetes.

  • Experience managing operating system basics in the context of system design and deployment.

  • Experience managing on-premise data center workloads, processes, and methodologies.

  • Experience managing and migrating into IaaS, SaaS, PaaS, and DBaaS platforms.

  • A demonstrable record of designing and deploying technology initiatives and delivering outstanding results.

  • Technology breadth. Experience in IT infrastructure and applications development; ability to understand IT and client technical requirements.

  • A science, engineering, technology-related degree is desired. Advanced studies preferred.

  • Expertise architecting, implementing, securing and managing Amazon Web Services (AWS)Experience with Microsoft AZURE
