Description:This Lockheed Martin (LM) Enterprise Business Services (EBS) position reports to the Aero & Space Database Services manager. Incumbent will be responsible for SQL Server, Oracle and other system database activities to include: performance, installation, design, configuration management, integrity and security. Typical responsibilities consist of but are not limited to:
- analysis of requirements
- assessing database management solutions against standards and best practices
- commissioning and installing databases for new applications
- installing and testing new versions of the DBMS
- monitoring performance and managing parameters
- configuration management
- controlling access permissions and privileges
- ensuring that storage, archiving, back-up and recovery procedures are functioning correctly
- developing, managing, and testing back-up and recovery plans
- capacity planning
- collaborating with IT project managers, database engineers, application programmers and other database administrators
- communicating regularly with technical, applications and operational staff
- composing database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata)

Position offers schedule flexibility and has periodic need for off-hours/weekend support. Aero primary locations are Fort Worth, TX and Marietta, GA, but other LM Enterprise IT locations or telecommuting may be considered (must live within 50 miles of an LM facility).

Basic Qualifications:
Experience with:
- SQL Server and/or Oracle database design, development and administration
- SQL Server and/or Oracle planning resources, database upgrades, backup & recovery strategy, implementations, and environment transitions (development, test, stage, and production)
- SQL Server and/or Oracle database loading, development and management of operational procedures, environment management and database health (including database tuning and/or performance monitoring)
- Open source database engineering & administration (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Database deployment and administration to Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud
- Database security processes and implementation
- Database administration scripting
- Knowledge of Unix, Solaris and/or Linux operating systems
- Knowledge of Windows operating system
- System development life cycle
- Technical and analytical problem solving skills

US Citizenship is required
Possession of or ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security clearance
Desired Skills:
- Database refactoring, particularly from Oracle to another database manager
- Oracle database SQL/scripting experience
- Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work across virtual teams
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and work in a dynamic, fast paced environment
