RMS Sikorsky is a world leader in the design and manufacture of advanced helicopters for military and commercial uses. Sikorsky helicopters are used by all five branches of the United States armed forces in more than 40 nations. Based in Stratford, Connecticut, USA, Sikorsky has outlying facilities in other Connecticut locations as well as in Florida and Alabama.
The Sikorsky Aerostructures Product Center is responsible for the manufacture, procurement, assembly and modification of helicopter airframe structures for UH/HH-60M, S70i, T-70, HH-60W, MH-60R and CH-53K.
Candidate should be energetic, open to diverse viewpoints and assignments, and persistent despite setbacks and resistance. Candidate should be a highly motived individual able to provide operational support to assist the Manufacturing team in successfully achieving all Manufacturing objectives. The individual may attend daily meetings and take direction from the Manufacturing leadership team to provide data to allow the leadership team to make daily and informed decisions. Key roles may include:
• Evaluate pertinent data by performing a variety of task analysis and business processes.
• Provide support to the manufacturing team in preparing business plans and strategies.
• Assist Operations with continuous improvement activities related to shop floor optimization
• Work with key manufacturing group leaders to identify areas of improvement and strategies to implement.
• Assist manufacturing teams in monitoring project processes and resolving issues along the way.
The successful candidate must have the ability to contribute as a member of a diverse cross functional team working on specific improvement projects. Candidate should have familiarity with lean manufacturing, visual factory, standard work, and 6S initiatives. Candidate shall comply with company and regulatory ESH policies, rules and requirements.
Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or Master's degree in a Business or Technical field in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Operations, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Business administration or supply chain degrees are preferred from an accredited University.
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Candidate should have strong analytical skills.
Candidates must have excellent communication skills and be able to work in a highly team-oriented and dynamic environment. Self-motivated individuals who have the ability to manage many projects and responsibilities simultaneously are a must. Strong computer skills required (Excel, PowerPoint).
