Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking a Welder for a position at Ft. Story, VA. The Welder, Combination Maintenance (WCM) welds metal components together to fabricate or repair products, such as machine parts, plant equipment, according to layouts, blueprints or work orders, using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment. This worker welds metal parts together, using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes, performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding, repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes and increases size of metal parts, positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding. Additionally, this position will require assisting other range support personnel in the conduct of general maintenance and repairs to support training ranges in an operationally ready and safe conditions, assisting in the fabrication structures, and the installation of hollow core, solid core, residential steel, industrial steel and various locking systems.
Able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
Able to work outside in all weathers.
Able to stand for long periods of time and walk long distances.
Able to write and speak clearly in English.
Must be able to travel occasionally.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a minimum of a Secret clearance.
Basic computer skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Must be a US citizen.
Current Department of Defense Secret Clearance.
Knowledge of applicable Navy directives (e.g. MIL-HDBK 1027/3B, NAVSEA OP-5, AR 385-63) for compliance and safety.
Welding certificate for Virginia and 3 years experience.
