Description:Lockheed Martin's Missiles and Fire Control business area is experiencing some substantial growth at our campus in Grand Prairie, TX. We are seeking a Proposal Estimator to join our Production, Planning and Control Organization in the Proposal Estimating Department.

The Proposal Estimator will focus primarily on developing Basis of Estimates for proposal activities. This is an excellent opportunity to quickly ramp-up any estimating skills, networking contacts, and differentiate from peers. The Proposal Estimator will develop a Basis of Estimate labor bid in response to government requests for proposal.
The Proposal Estimator will support fact finding for requests for information
The Proposal Estimator will research and analyze historical data (labor history reports)
The Proposal Estimator will ensure commonality in the Proposal Estimating process.
Additional duties and opportunities will also include:
-Presenting strategy to management, and working with customer through negotiations.
-Must be able to review, communicate, and follow up all required and suggested proposal changes in timely manner.
-Working with Make/Buy indented structures and Tangible Items Lists.
The Estimator will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing engineering, materials estimating, proposal management, and other team members and key stakeholders. The Estimator will have to opportunity to keep up-to-date with the latest innovations and industry best practices within the Proposal Estimating field within the Aerospace sector.

The Locale: Grand Prairie is part of the “Mid-Cities” region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth. The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and a pleasant climate. This North Central region of Texas is a great place to live and to raise a family. The region is home to numerous colleges and universities to include University of Texas at Dallas, University of Texas at Arlington, University of North Texas, Southern Methodist University, and Texas Woman's University. The Mid-Cities is the suburban region filling the thirty-mile span between Dallas and Fort Worth. These communities include the cities of Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, HEB (Hurst, Euless and Bedford), NRH (North Richland Hills and Richland Hills), Haltom City, Watauga, and Keller, along with multiple other smaller towns such as Trophy Club and Roanoke and together represent more people than either Dallas or Fort Worth.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-The ability to develop a Basis of Estimate labor bid in response to government requests for proposal.
-The ability to support fact finding for requests for information is required.
-The ability to research and analyze historical data (labor history reports) is required.
-The ability to ensure commonality in the Proposal Estimating process is required.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Good MS Office skills, primarily Excel utilizing pivot tables, etc.
- Ability to obtain a US Government issued Security Clearance
Desired Skills:
- Possesses a working knowledge of proposal estimating with experience writing labor estimates.
- Interpret, understand and work from (Make/Buy Docs)
- Basic understanding of government contracts and proposal process
- Basic understanding of SAP
