The Design and Consulting Services Group of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented and experienced Electrical Systems Engineer for immediate employment. Detailed design of electrical power distribution system and physical layouts, power system phase and ground fault protection relays, lightning and switching protection, conduit and cable plans, substation ground grid design and analysis based upon IEEE Std. 80.
Shall be able to generate single line and three-line diagrams, HV and MV breakers local and remote control schematic diagrams, local and remote alarm system using PLC/SCADA and HMI devices.
Equipment layout inside the building, lighting design, HVAC ventilation, and fire alarm and protection system. Coordination with structural, civil, architects and utility incoming transmission line, and development of coordination steps for equipment layout and coordination design.
Make innovation design of fitting the equipment in limited spaces for the existing space limitations for new equipment.
Work and guide other junior engineers working on the project for efficient design package.
Other duties include establishing data for short circuit studies by providing input to others for performing the analysis required for power system design
Performing site visits for data gathering, writing material procurement and construction specifications.
Act as the lead project engineer and work with senior peer engineers and junior designers to carry out a successful design package.
Will work in a design team; will be assigned to multiple projects to support others requiring help when necessary.
Experience must include physical design, control, protection, metering, and communication requirements for substations, including short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, grounding studies, and utility interfaces
Must be familiar with the National Electrical Code, National Electric Safety Code, and NERVY Requirements
Candidate should have experience in the underground and above power distribution system.
Must have worked with other engineers to complete detailed design starting from the conceptual design phase to complete design of the facility.
Must have worked in the development of design and review for 35%, 65%, 100%, and final bid package. Candidate must be capable of laying out equipment in limited space with innovatiion design concepts while making sure not to violate codes and standards.
Candidate must be very familiar with current industry standards and requirements of energy efficiency and arc flash hazards and equipment energy labeling for the safety of personnel and protection of equipment from the unpredictable threat of arc hazard.
Strong background in establishing interface requirements with the electrical utility company for power supply interface requirements.
The candidate shall be able to work with a team of engineers and other professional including CADD drafting staff, engaged in the development of specifications and engineers cost estimate.
Design experience of developing plans, specifications, and engineers cost estimate help.
Must be thorough with IEEE standards and recommended guidelines for power distribution and protection. Must have design experience of lighting, power system protection, grounding, and bonding, ground grid design, relay selection and protection, lightning protection. Transferred potential, seismic design of the electrical system. Local and remote alarm system using PLC/SCADA system.
The engineer should be very clear to meet the schedule of the project in making submittals.
