Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking an Erosion and Sediment Control Specialist to work out of the AECOM office located in Morrisville, NC. This is a part time position.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead or participate in routine field work that involves performing Erosion & Sediment Control (ESC) and/or Stormwater Management inspections.

  • Prepare inspection results and related NPDES permit documentation and communicate with the Inspector’s supervisor. Work closely with clients to communicate ESC concerns.

  • Work requires knowledge of federal, state and local environmental regulations specifically related to land disturbance activities, stormwater management and erosion, sediment, and turbidity control practices, and ability to interpret and apply these requirements to various situations.

  • Utilizes advanced scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies develop technical solutions to complex problems.

  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, provincial and national regulations to ensure compliance. Work is performed with minimal direction.

  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Responsible for advanced duties and activities in their specialized functional area.

  • Conducts research and does investigation work as required.

  • Plans and organizes project studies.

  • Assists in the resolution of conflicting technical information and unsuitability of standard procedures.

  • Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems.

  • May oversee the work of less experienced scientists.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 6 years of Sediment Control experience

  • US Citizen, due to the client’s requirements

  • Must have valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 years of Sediment Control experience

  • CPESC certification
