Job Description:

Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) is the provider of Advanced Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar sensor systems for the U.S. Navy’s F/A-18 Aircraft and Air Force’s F/A-15 Aircraft. As a technical member of the Radar Systems & Integration Lab (RSIL) Operation team, the candidate will support Raytheon’s development, production and depot laboratories and facilities.

This highly dynamic environment requires both speed and efficiency in addition to maintaining product quality, functionality and traceability. The individual selected will work with a diverse group of hardware/firmware engineers, software engineers and Radar subject matter experts.

Additional activities include:

  • Development of verification and validation requirements, method and approach
  • Development of test plans, test procedures, flight test planning related activities and events
  • Support system-level integration and testing, including performance, functional, interface and qualification testing
  • Development of system-level test equipment to support system Integration & Test (I&T), verification and sell off
  • Interface with their team lead, team members and other teams (SW and HW) on a daily basis
  • Conduct or participate in customer and/or program technical review presentations and provide task progress status updates and work products to the team lead

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 6 years work related experiencewith Radar, RF and RF Environmental concepts and technology
  • Experience with reading schematics and the ability to troubleshoot down to the component level
  • Experience with commercial test equipment (e.g. DMM, Oscilloscope, Signal Generator, Spectrum Analyzer, Logic Analyzer)
  • Experience in the development and delivery of Radar Systems and technologies
  • Knowledge of AESA-based radar systems operation, functionality, testing, verification, system qualification and sell off
  • Experience integrating hardware and software for RF/Microwave and Analog circuit hardware applications
  • Experience in RF Subsystems and a working understanding of integration processes
  • Experience in Flight Test Data Analysis tools and models
  • Experience working with both customer and internal resources
  • Able to travel to support our products under test at various Raytheon sites
  • Radar System Integration Labs (RSIL) experience
  • Ability to work in fast paced, high demand laboratory factory shift environment supporting multiple programs
  • Current DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance and/or a SSBI/Special Access clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship and the minimum required U.S. Security Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in hardware and software integration of embedded, real-time complex systems
  • Experience with Security Encryption products
  • Experience with Boundary Scan tools (i.e. JTAG, etc.)
  • Experience with Doors, Program Data Management Tools, Electronic CAD Systems, Schematic Capture Tools, Orcad, Linux, AutoCAD, Visio, mentor graphic DXdesign, FPGA design, VHDL, Verilog, Visual Studios, Fortran


  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in STEM program (i.e. Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science)

Desired Education:

  • Master's Degree from an accredited institution in STEM program (i.e. Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science)
