Instructional Systems Designer II - Oklahoma City - Military veterans preferred

Raytheon Professional Services is looking for an Instructional Systems Designer for our Oklahoma City, OK office. As a member of a cross-functional team this position produces courseware that will be delivered in an increasing variety of delivery media including Web, Interactive Distance Learning (IDL), Virtual Classroom Training (VCT), or Instructor Led hands on. Limited travel to support development and validation of course materials may be required.

This position is responsible for designing and developing training materials that:

• are completed in accordance with project plans and schedules
• meet design intent
• are instructionally sound
• are grammatically correct
• are consistent with approved style guides
• meet customer expectations
• communicate learning concepts effectively

Required Skills:

• Minimum four years of WBT/ILT Instructional Systems Design experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, English, Education, History or Political Science is required
• Experience using Articulate Storyline
• Experience writing learning and performance-based objectives
• Experience writing and organizing content to support learning objectives
• Experience applying the ADDIE model to course development in a professional/business environment
• Experience applying knowledge of commonly-used concepts practices and procedures within Instructional Systems Design
• Excellent software skills in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• Excellent writing skills; use of language, grammar, spelling, organizing content, etc

Desired Skills:

• 5+ years experience as an Instructional Systems Designer
• Ability to perform design/development duties with minimal coaching and adheres to instructions and pre-established guidelines, as assigned
• Ability to work with a diverse group of professionals, across multiple teams, to ensure project requirements are met
• Ability to plan and enhance initial and existing designs
• Experience organizing content using design principles
• Ability to develop solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity
• Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects
• Effectively works as a member of a cross-functional team to ensure training materials target training and business requirements, and meet all quality control standards
• Ability to organize and lay out content visually, including detailed graphic design instructions
• Ability to research content and glean information from technical, soft skill, and business documentation, engineering personnel, or other technical subject matter experts
• Experience with learning management and learning content management systems
• Ability to work with Virtual team members
• Ability to present complex information clearly
• Degree in Instructional Design

Required Education:

• A Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, English, Education, History or Political Science is required.
