Perform a range of design development, analysis or review tasks under minimal supervision.
Act as a lead on less complex tasks and responsible for a portion of a design or section of an analysis or design review.
Generate complete design specifications of more complex projects.
Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements.
Establish and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status.
Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.
Direct interface and liaison with customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.
Conduct site visits, experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations.
Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Must be a US citizen and have an active Secret Clearance.
Must have a Bachelor’s of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline, or four (4) years of a demonstrated knowledge base and subject matter expertise relevant to specific technical disciplines of the PWS, including the qualifications below; or US Naval operational experience at the E7 level or higher.
In addition, six (6) years of engineering experience with a DoD major weapon, combat, and/or fire control systems program. Experience in concept definition, DoDAF compliant architecture development, requirements definition, and initial and detailed system design activities.
Systems engineering experience focused on requirements development and management of software systems. This includes experience related to the identification, analysis, and documentation of complex systems involving DOD weapon, combat, and/or fire control systems.
Two (2) years of concurrent experience with Navy surface or submarine shipboard weapons, combat, and/or fire control systems to include current Navy programs such as Tomahawk, USW (Surface Ship), USW (C4I), SLBM, and/or LCS Combat Systems.
One Engineer/Analyst experienced with engineering tools such as DOORS, Change Synergy, and System Architect.
One Engineer /Analyst experienced in obtaining DIACAP and/or PIT certification and accreditation of Navy weapon systems connected to the IT-21 Network.
Computer Engineering background and experience with SWS/AWS systems and requirements development and analysis.
Experience supporting media analysis and problem investigations.
Experience with FPGA and integrated circuit designs and removable media cartridges.
