Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a well-rounded and self-motivated Mid-Level Environmental Scientist to support our staff of experienced Project Managers. This position will be based out of our St. Louis, MO office.

The responsibilities of this position and desirable experience and attributes for candidates include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure that health and safety and quality are adhered to throughout the life of a project

  • Prepare work plans, reports and project deliverables

  • Develop scopes of work and prepare cost estimates for investigative and remedial projects

  • Evaluate and interpret site data

  • Excellent technical writing, data management, organizational and communication skills

  • Phase II environmental site assessments

  • Professional interaction with clients

  • Groundwater monitoring well installation

  • Soil, water and air sampling

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree of Science, Geology, Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering

  • 6+ years in the environmental field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years relevant experience

  • Field work experience or advanced degree and some exposure to field experiences required

  • Excellent communication skills, highly motivated and ability to work independently

  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER Trained

  • Fluent with Microsoft Word and Excel programs

  • Short-duration overnight travel will be required, although not on a routine basis

  • Ability to travel is a must. (short duration)

  • Ability to self-direct and self-manage is a must

  • Proven technical writing skills

  • Advanced degree

  • Professional certification

  • Excellent follow through with tasks to completion

  • Well Installation, Soil Sampling, Air sampling experience
