Job Summary

AECOM is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our highly collaborative and motivated staff in our Columbus, Ohio Building Engineering practice. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Produce design documents for various types of projects

  • Low and medium voltage switchgear design

  • Perform power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protective coordination, arc flash analysis).

  • Develop protective relay settings and calculations

  • Prepare building engineering reports involving electrical system based investigations

  • Perform construction administration services such as shop drawing and RFI review

  • Create estimates and proposals for projects.

  • Along with your technical excellence, you will also be expected to effectively lead, manage, and design multiple projects simultaneously

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and 10+ years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of education/experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is a plus

  • PE (Profession Engineer) License

  • Detail oriented yet efficient, experienced engineer who can make decisions independently

  • Ability and experience to satisfy clients’ needs, budgets, and schedules

  • Strong familiarity with industry codes and standards (NEC, NESC, IEEE, federal, state and local building codes)

  • General familiarity with a broad field of engineering and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines.
