Job Summary

The Environmental Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking an experienced and hard-working Environmental Project Manager to support a wide variety of environmental consulting and communications project efforts in our Arlington/Crystal City, VA office. Projects include environmental regulatory compliance and policy analysis as well as environmental risk communications. The appropriately qualified applicant will demonstrate experience and working knowledge of project management strategies, environmental regulatory requirements, environmental science principles, and strategic communications.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and manage project budgets

  • Support project and contract proposal efforts relating to environmental and communications projects

  • Write work planning documents and technical reports

  • Work with teams in order to execute project tasks

  • Support planning and executing projects for the DoD in the areas of environmental compliance and/or communications.

  • Perform regulatory research and analysis in support of development of policy and guidance

  • Interface with clients to identify technical requirements

  • Meet required schedules while producing quality work

  • Manage personal workloads, apprising department manager of progress and obstacles

  • Work independently with minimal supervision and complete multiple tasks under tight deadlines

  • Work both in a team environment and without supervision

  • Strong work ethic and professional demeanor

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university

  • 2 years of experience as a Project Manager

  • Must be a US Citizen, capable of passing a National Agency Check, which will be required to gain access to Government IT Systems and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC)

  • Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

  • Must have a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 years in industry/DoD; Knowledge of and/or experience with the U.S. Marine Corps

  • Proficient in standard office computer applications and software, to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Teams

  • Demonstrate familiarity of federal environmental laws and regulations as they apply to the mission and installations within the Department of Defense

  • Demonstrate excellent oral communication and writing skills. Will be required to present a technical writing sample prior to interview.

  • Strong work ethic and professional demeanor

  • Excellent team building and leadership skills

  • Current security clearance and/or CAC
