Job Summary

The Buildings and Places Division of AECOM is actively seeking an energetic, self-motivated, highly collaborative Architect / Interior Designer to join its Washington, DC / Arlington, Virginia Interiors Workplace Practice. This position would initiate within AECOM offices and transition to the US Department of Agriculture Headquarters Facilities Management Offices in Washington, D.C on the National Mall.

  • Responsible for initiating and developing design and construction document drawings through completion for assigned projects in conformance with the requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria established by the project’s discipline leaders.

  • Under direct supervision, may complete design assignments of limited complexity.

  • Limited familiarity with codes, permits, and software applications related to the discipline.

  • Introduced to the process of preparing designs and drawings using project specifications and discipline-associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards and procedures.

  • Basic understanding of the purpose and use of vendor documents.

Minimum Requirements

  • Professional degree from an accredited Architecture or Interior Design program.

  • 5 – 8+ years of experience in Interior Architecture and Interior Design field.

  • Candidates should possess established facilities management knowledge, design and production of all phases of an Interiors project delivery including programming, test fits, space plans, design development, construction documents, construction administration.

  • Candidates are required to be proficient Revit, and a working knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign and Microsoft Office products.

  • Candidate should have professional qualifications within NCIDQ, LEED and/or ARE.
