Job Summary

The Buildings and Places Division of AECOM is actively seeking an energetic, self-motivated, highly collaborative Architect / Interior Designer to join its Washington, DC / Arlington, Virginia Interiors Workplace Practice. This position would initiate within AECOM offices and transition to the US Department of Agriculture Headquarters Facilities Management Offices in Washington, D.C on the National Mall. Candidates should be prepared to assume management of facilities planning department with an established working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit. Candidates should possess strong space planning and design experience, established communication and collaboration skills, and experience in both corporate and public practice team environments. This position will manage agency facilities and workspace databases for USDA within the National Capital Region. Awarded position will work closely with facilities department and design leads, senior designers, technical coordinators, and project managers to receive and implement work place move requests and maintain new agency-wide facilities databases. The candidate will be responsible for facilities management, surveying, programming, test fits, space plans, design development, construction documents, construction administration, and furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) packages. The successful candidate will work closely with USDA departments to manage agency workplaces and facilities for one of the largest federal buildings in Washington, DC.

Minimum Requirements

  • Professional degree from an accredited Architecture or Interior Design program.

  • 5 – 8+ years of experience in Interior Architecture and Interior Design field.

  • Candidates should possess established facilities management knowledge, design and production of all phases of an Interiors project delivery including programming, test fits, space plans, design development, construction documents, construction administration.

  • Candidates are required to be proficient Revit, and a working knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign and Microsoft Office products.

  • Candidate should have professional qualifications within NCIDQ, LEED and/or ARE.
