Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an Environmental Compliance Project Manager for employment in our Chantilly, VA office. In this role, you will contribute to proposal and marketing efforts to gain new environmental business and provide technical support to a variety of public and private sector clients. You will be performing quality reviews.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare proposals, sell and manage environmental project work. This requires a high level of knowledge of environmental regulations, and either Virginia/Maryland - specific environmental experience or the ability to quickly come up to speed on Virginia/Maryland - specific environmental regulations.

  • Executing and managing projects involving SPCC, Stormwater, NPDES, Illicit Discharge Surveys, Hazardous Waste, Hazardous materials, EMS, Air Quality and other environmental regulatory compliance services including regulatory research, compliance planning and auditing, creating spreadsheets, and compiling and writing reports and other documents

  • Providing quality reviews and guidance for preparing SPCC plans.

  • Providing training on environmental requirements.

  • Participation in environmental audits as a subject matter expert on SPCC, water quality, air, Hazardous waste, Pollution prevention and other environmental regulations

  • Successfully execute environmental permitting and compliance projects while meeting cost, schedule, safety, and quality objectives

  • Marketing, proposal writing and bringing in new work and clients as well as supporting existing projects and clients.

  • Summarize new and updated environmental regulations, perform strategic regulatory analysis and develop compliance approaches

  • Effectively lead project teams by coordinating and communicating with project team members

  • Training to achieve AECOM Project Manager Certification

  • Interact with clients to communicate regulatory requirements, refine compliance strategies, and develop business

  • Promote and demonstrate a positive, team-oriented attitude

  • Conduct internal technical reviews and detail checks

  • Interface with regulators and negotiate favorable permit conditions

  • Prepare technical presentations

Minimum Requirements

  • BS in Science or Engineering

  • 6+ years of Environment Compliance experience

  • 2 years of experience preparing proposals

  • 2 years of environmental consulting experience

  • US citizen, due to US government contracts & private contract

  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant experience

  • Data Center environmental compliance experience

  • Regulatory knowledge of SPCC and SWPPPs and a PE is desired

  • NPDES & Illicit Discharge Survey experience

  • Proposal development

  • Experience of winning new projects & new clients

  • Hazardous Waste compliance experience
