Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Systems Engineer to support a NAVY contract in Dahlgren, VA.

  • Perform a range of design development, analysis, or review tasks independently providing supervision of contributing engineers.

  • Responsible for complete designs, analyses, or design reviews independently or as the team leader.

  • Acts as and is recognized as a Company/industry expert resource on the most complex engineering problems.

  • May lead engineering teams and act as a mentor to engineering team members.

  • Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements.

  • Direct interface and liaison with internal and external customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.

  • Conduct site visits and experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations.

  • Prepare, deliver and submit technical papers and perform engineering studies.

May provide technical management and leadership to a group of employees for a given project, contract or job with overall responsibility for cost, schedule technical and employee performance.

Technical issues related to the research, design, development, testing and analysis of engineering assignments.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum ten (10) years of full-time professional experience in Systems Engineering supporting the Department of Defense if the Candidate has a Bachelor’s degree; or

Minimum eight (8) years of full-time professional experience in Systems Engineering supporting the Department of Defense if the

Candidate has a Master’s degree; or

Minimum five (5) years of full-time professional experience in Systems Engineering supporting the Department of Defense if the Candidate has a Ph.D degree;

Specialized Experience:

Five (5) years of continuous support of at least one major weapons system development program, supporting any of the

following areas: Requirements definition, System design parameters, Concepts operation, Risk assessment, Performance analyses, or Test and evaluation.

Three (3) years of demonstrated experience with systems engineering and work management tools such as Dynamic Object

Oriented Requirements System (DOORS), Atlassian Jirra, and/or SolidWorks Enterprise Product Data Management (PDM).

Position requires an active Secret Security Clearance.

Must be US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Naval Weapons Systems at NSWCDD is preferred
