Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Water, Wastewater, Water Resources Engineer III for employment in our Rocky Hill, CT office. AECOM is searching for candidates that have the ability to be a role model, be client-focused, be impactful and be decisive.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Field investigation and observation of construction projects

  • Work on small projects or portions of larger projects as a team with other disciplines

  • Preparing design calculations and construction cost estimates

  • Plan and prepare, or review, technical specifications and other procurement and contract documents

  • Supporting managers – tracking scope, schedule and budget, adherence to QA/QC guidelines

  • Collaboratively work with multi discipline design team

  • Preparing engineering services proposals, cost estimates, and schedules

  • Preparing Project Work plans and Health and Safety Plans

  • Attend client meetings and technical presentations

  • Overseeing and preparing engineering reports and documentation

  • Supervise, mentor and provide support for entry level engineering staff

  • Lead technical designs and evaluations

  • Interface with clients and regulatory agencies and play a major role on presentations to existing or potential clients as well as regulators

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Prepare contract documents suitable for bidding

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Civil or Environmental engineering with an emphasis in water, waste water, water resources or other related field required

  • 4+ years of experience on water, wastewater and water resource projects

  • Registered Professional Engineer licensed in New England or ability to obtain such license

  • Experience developing engineering deliverables such as engineering reports, design drawings, technical specifications, and other detailed engineering deliverables

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to be client-facing

  • Exceptional technical skills and experience working on storm water, water, wastewater, or flood protection/resilience projects

  • Strong commitment to ensuring safe project execution

  • Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to work well in a team environment

  • Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods

  • Self-starter and ability to take initiative

  • Client focused service perspective is a must

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Chemical, Civil or Environmental engineering with an emphasis in water/waste water or other related field required

  • 5+ years of experience on water, wastewater and water resource projects

  • Strong presentation skills
