Job Summary

AECOM is currently seeking a Architecture Designer II for our Roanoke, VA. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing basic architectural calculations.

  • Preparing specifications and reports.

  • Preparing construction drawings.

  • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may perform technical assignments of moderate complexity within approved schedules and budgets.

  • May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or other related field required

  • 2+ years of relevant experience

  • Diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices

  • Ability to clearly communicate with clients and peers

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong technical skills related to visualization, planning, and architectural design

  • Enrolled in NCARB Architectural Experience program (AXP), formerly Intern Development Program (IDP) and actively seeking state Architecture Registration

  • Certification as a LEED Accredited Professional by the USGBC

  • Experience with SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator and other related graphic software

  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop and PowerPoint
