AECOM has an opportunity for a highly qualified candidate as a
Sr. Network Engineer providing operational knowledge and support of Department of Defense (DoD) networking architecture to assist in designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting of USINDOPACOM Command and Control Support System (C2S2) networks at the Command, Control, Communications, and Cyber Directorate (J6) at
Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii.
The Cisco Network Engineer shall assist in planning, implementing, installing, configuring, operating, and optimizing an extensive range of network technologies and monitoring tools across multiple enclaves. Additionally, the candidate shall be knowledgeable in the practice and execution of DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) validations and DISA’s STIG Viewer checklist.
Assist the project lead with network improvements and upgrades. Assist government personnel with the planning, design, and execution of projects while providing crucial documentation to assist in maintaining continuity.
Configure and deploy network routers, switches, firewalls, Video Teleconferencing (VTC)-specialized equipment, and all related network devices on operational networks, with no downtime, unless previously scheduled. Use /modify the backup configuration from backup server as a template.
Assist the project lead to coordinate all planning for required Authorized Scheduled Interruptions (ASI). Upon completion of the ASI, produce a narrative After Actions Report (AAR) depicting the installation, faults, troubleshooting, fixes, and lessons learned.
Execute the DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) validations and account for vulnerabilities via DISA’s STIG Viewer checklist; providing validation to appropriate government personnel.
Perform cable management duties. These duties encompass the fabrication, patching, tracing, labeling, organizing, and troubleshooting of new and existing networking infrastructure.
Work in conjunction with designated government personnel to configure/re-configure new and existing applications to capture necessary government data.
Notify government oversight of failed network redundancy, to include testing of devices, and identify the potential cause. Identify courses of action for mitigation or remediation, and assist in remedying the situation.
Provide continuous support to government personnel in maintaining and troubleshooting network, hardware, printer, server, and software deficiencies for products and services within the Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) data, telephony, and Video Teleconference (VTC) environments.
Maintain network device and personnel security within the network environment, managing identity and access needs with the use of the current INDOPACOM Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting applications.
Process and resolve assigned IT Service Requests and Trouble Tickets using the current INDOPACOM ticketing system.
Create and maintain architectural and topographical diagrams featuring both high and low level detail to aid and assist in troubleshooting and continuity of the network.
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to assist in the initial setup of devices and also to help in the troubleshooting and reconfiguration of malfunctioning devices.
Maintain the lifecycle management of all devices, ensuring that government personnel are notified of all devices end of life, end of support, and end of service.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested
Must have a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience).
At least 6 years of experience, of which should include 3 years of DoD network engineering experience.
In accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, must meet IAT II certification minimum qualifications.
Must have a current Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) certification.
Must have a current Security+ CE certification.
Have some experience using and maintaining servers and SolarWinds monitoring tool.
Have experience using Microsoft Visio.
Experience using Microsoft Office tools (word, excel, outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
Must be able to carry 40 pounds due to installations.
Due to the nature of the work, must be a U.S. citizen.
Must have an active Top Secret security clearance and be SCI eligible.
