Job Summary

Job Summary: Our AECOM Honolulu office is currently seeking a Jr level Geologist to support field operations for environmental investigations, remediation implementation and performance monitoring for various DOD clients in Pacific. The ideal candidate will have prior experience drilling, soil logging, well installation and soil, groundwater and vapor sample collection. Additionally, this candidate will be willing and able to learn new skills on challenging field assignments in a team work environment.

Tasks will include:

  • Field document preparation, field data collection, processing and interpretation.

  • Conducting environmental field work, including soil logging, groundwater sampling, fluid level gauging and oversight of field surveys, drilling, well installation, development operations and utility clearance for intrusive operations.

  • Supporting office tasks, including data analysis and report preparation.

  • Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.

  • Collects and enters data, and applies technical principles and theories.

  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.

  • Entry-level position; may not require previous experience.

  • Degree in science or related field required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geology

  • 0-2 years of related work experience

  • Required to intermittently drive company or rental vehicles for work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree a plus

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Arc GIS

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
