Job Summary

AECOM will provide all technical and engineering stages of development, test, integration, and fielding of safe and innovative weapon control systems, detection systems support, advanced weapon systems support, autonomous system support, mechanical and electrical technician support towards assembly and integration. This will be done for lethal and non-lethal weapons, guidance and control, unmanned and autonomous systems, advanced sensory, and weapons effectiveness for surface warfare, maritime operations, expeditionary warfare and special operations.

Essential Responsibilities:

Ensures compliance with established standards, guides, precedents, methods, and techniques within discipline.

Establishes electrical and electronic engineering design criteria and provides guidance and evaluation for facility projects.

Conduct work in specialty for high voltage electrical distribution systems; electrical system load and short-circuit studies; instrumentation, and control systems; power and lighting systems, fire detection systems, cathodic protection systems, isolated and emergency power systems, and other unique electrical / electronic systems

Coordinate efforts of technical support personnel, drafters, technical writers and electronic technicians.

Develop and recommend design approaches for new and improved products and or processes.

Conduct independent technical investigation involving the origination or modification of material, component or process specifications


Minimum Requirements

  • Five (5) years of full-time professional experience working as an Electrical/Electronic Design Engineer. The individual shall have proficiency in 3D modeling (Inventor/Solid Works), to assist them in efficiently performing computations, and by permitting the modeling and simulation of new designs as well as facilitating changes to existing designs.

  • The individual should also have a working knowledge of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) for design data processing and for turning the design into a product.

  • Position requires an active Secret Security Clearance.

  • Must be US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in areas of shipboard installation, maintenance, and repair of information systems supporting naval combat operations is desired.
