Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a

Project Civil Engineer with 6+ years of experience to lead our civil design practice in our Phoenix, Arizona office. This position will involve working with teams of civil and geotechnical engineers to conceive, permit, design and construct large earthwork projects including leach stockpiles, tailing impoundments, and dams (flood control and water reservoirs).

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead civil engineering design on projects for dams, landfills, mining projects, and power projects.

  • Prepare presentations for projects and proposals.

  • Provide mentoring and leadership to junior engineers.

  • Prepare technical memoranda and design reports.

  • Support business growth with new and existing clients.

  • Demonstrate ability to build trusting working relationships with clients and colleagues.

  • Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks.

Minimum Requirements

  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering.

  • Intermediate/Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Experience on mining or other heavy-civil projects.

  • Willingness to travel remotely (within AZ) on occasion for construction observation and client meetings (Estimated 10% or less of total time).

  • Professional Engineering license or EIT (with ability to obtain PE within 1 year).

  • U.S. Citizenship required.

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

  • Master's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
