Job Summary

Shimmick Construction, an AECOM CO., is seeking an experienced Construction Engineer to work on a grade separation project in City of Industry, CA. This challenging position will provide an excellent growth opportunity while improving the infrastructure of the city.


  • Collaborates with others with the ability to make autonomous decisions guided by policies, procedures and business objectives

  • Receives guidance and feedback from senior leaders

  • Accountable for the results of the team or the process establishing goals and objectives and adherence to budget

  • Submittals/RFIs/3WK Schedules

  • Engineering work packages.

  • Claiming/tracking quantities

  • Purchase ordering

  • Field layout and inspections

  • Force Account / T&M tracking and processing

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements :

BA/BS + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Experience in heavy civil construction is required

Hands on field capabilities to layout bridge,

retaining wall and other concrete structures

Hands on field capabilities to layout roadway appurtenances (i.e. JPCP, drainage, mbgr, and other various)

  • Cost reporting and budget analysis

  • Daily Cost analysis

  • Experience in CPM scheduling (i.e. building a schedule and providing monthly updates to Owner, along with Time Impact Analysis (TIA) experience)

  • Experience in Contract Change Order pricing

  • Submittal, RFI and other owner document preparations
