AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Architect for immediate employment as a Market Sector leader for Themed Entertainment & Leisure for the Orlando, FL office. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Lead business development opportunities and revenue growth for the Themed Entertainment & Leisure market.

  • Work with Global Market Sector leader on major projects on domestic & International pursuits.

  • Grow capabilities in Architecture and Engineering for Themed Resorts and attractions, Family Entertainment centers and resort hotels to increase revenue source.

  • Track industry trends and forward-thinking perspective and deliver seamless, integrated, collaborative services to our clients.

  • Develop and maintain a positive client relationship to preposition AECOM for future services.

  • Provide expertise & knowledge to the project lead architect/Facility Designer under the leadership of the design manager, in collaboration with all disciplines, client creative, Show/Ride, Design & Production and Operating partners.

  • Provide support to project lead and Project Facility Designer for design and implementation aspects of assigned projects

  • Support implementation of project goals/objectives through problem solving and development of design solutions; ensures adherence to department/divisional Standards of Practice

  • Prepare winning proposals

  • Resolves complex design and technical issues

  • Manages and leads all technical, financial, and client satisfaction areas using consistent processes and tools

  • Project teams may include 10 or members often representing multiple business lines, working in remote locations and including a subcontractor(s)

  • Reviews change order modification requests for entitlements for mid-sized projects or portions of larger projects

  • Manages budget and handle change orders when additional services are requested. Interfaces with staff, clients, and management

  • Manages project related contracts including budgets and timeline, cost tracking and ensuring all conditions in the contract are met, associated documents by means of RFI responses, submittal reviews, application of payments, and change orders

  • Evaluates contractor’s progress and make recommendations

  • Develops working conduit of communication between an owner or contractor and the design team

  • Address and resolves problems and assures the final success of a construction project

  • Reads and interprets contract requirements, architectural and engineering drawings, and project schedules

  • Works independently on assigned duties

Works and collaborates with Orlando office leadership and teams as part of a vibrant team-based environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 15+ years project management experience

  • Licensed Architect in Florida

  • Outstanding oral communication, written and presentation skills

  • Able to communicate highly technical concepts in terms that internal project managers and external clients can understand

  • Able to manage a team of experts to complete quality work products

  • Oversee marketing team in preparation of proposals

  • Must be detail oriented, thorough, well organized and effectively manage time

  • Team player with excellent listening skills and diplomacy; willingness to work with multiple different colleagues on a variety of initiatives

  • Has thorough knowledge and understanding of construction contracts, applicable codes, scheduling and familiarity with materials, methods and processes of construction

  • Good understanding of Revit, AutoCad and Adobe Creative Suite. Sketchup, Rhinoceros, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign

  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time

  • Must be available to travel
