AECOM is seeking an experienced mid-level civil / environmental engineer to work in the Environmental Business line with an engineering design group on projects involving site/civil design, solid waste management, environmental infrastructure, stormwater management, construction and engineering services, for a variety of clients across the U.S.
Typical responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to:
Lead the development of site/civil and environmental design projects, including developing grading, drainage, and stormwater management.
Lead the development and application of hydraulic and hydrologic modeling and analyses related to a variety of water resource engineering design projects and be able to mentor junior staff in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling.
Prepare and review engineering related calculations and develop high-quality technical reports, design drawings and specifications.
Independently develop solutions for technical problems.
Be able to serve as a task manager on larger projects, or as a project manager on smaller projects.
Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
Travel to project sites as needed to attend client meetings or provide short-term construction oversight.
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited university
2+ years of relevant experience
Willingness to travel (20%).
5-10 years of relevant experience.
Professional Engineer license in the State of Ohio and/or other states with the ability to obtain an Ohio license within 6 months.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn, with a desire to work in a dynamic and fast pace deadline driven environment.
Ability to maintain strong relationships with clients and coordinate among multidiscipline design teams.
Demonstrate the ability to create site plans following client and local and/or federal code requirements.
Demonstrate experience in Stormwater management and hydraulic/hydrologic modeling using HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, or similar programs
Demonstrate experience in developing site/civil plans and drawings, including advanced experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D: Create Civil 3D surfaces & grading; Process and evaluate raw survey data; Create alignments, profiles, sections, and pipe networks.
Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications.
