Job Summary

Nuclear Waste Partnership, an LLC of AECOM, is seeking an experienced

Central Characterization Program (CCP) Equipment Engineer in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

The successful candidate will provide engineering and project management support for the Central Characterization Program (CCP). Will serve as the technical authority over assigned characterization equipment/processes. Consults with CCP field personnel regarding preventative and corrective maintenance for assigned equipment including Nondestructive Assay (NDA) and Nondestructive Examination (NDE) equipment. Provides engineering expertise in support of the CCP Configuration Management program and CCP procedures for equipment, systems and software. Initiates CCP equipment procurements, coordinates equipment deployments with field personnel and maintains equipment databases. Applies Engineering and Project Management principles to identify and resolve simple and complex problems.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required.

  • Demonstrated experience in design, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical systems.

  • Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be US Citizens.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an engineering position governed by DOE requirements/ system of controls is a plus.

  • Experience with mechanical conveyance systems is preferred.

  • Experience in equipment configuration management is desired.

  • Previous WIPP experience is preferred.
