As a result of a significant project pipeline, AECOM’s Resources, Power and Industry Business has an opportunity for a Process Safety & Risk Engineer to support the successful completion of a range of projects across the region.
Working as part of a dynamic, consulting environment, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects within the Mining, Oil & Gas and Industrial fields. Our team of industry experts and network of technical specialists will support the development of your technical and project management capabilities, giving you the opportunity to support project delivery to a broad range of clients and industry sectors.
Bachelor of Engineering – Essential;
Resources and/or Process Industry experience, particularly minerals processing – Preferred;
RPEQ or eligible for RPEQ – Preferred;
HAZOP Facilitation training (IChemE or Orica) – Preferred;
Hazardous Area Classification Certification – Preferred.
5-8 years’ relevant professional experience, with a background in Process or Process Safety Engineering;
Demonstrable experience in completing project process safety protocols throughout the project lifecycle, with experience and knowledge of risk issues in infrastructure, process and compliance projects across Resources, Defence, Water, and Industrial sectors.
Experience in consequence assessment and effects modelling using DNV PHAST and SAFETI, or similar consequence effects packages.
Understanding of hazard identification and assessment techniques, with experience facilitating workshops (HAZID, HAZOP, CHAIR, what-if, event tree / fault tree).
Experience applying qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques, including Risk Graph, Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) with an appreciation of SFARP approach to risk management.
Experience undertaking hazardous area assessments and facility classifications.
Understanding of Legislation, Regulations and Standards (in particular AS IEC 61511 and AS IEC 61508, AS 4024, AS 1940 (and other dangerous goods standards), IEC 60079 series, ISO 31000, and AS IEC 61882)
As a professional, the ability to provide technical direction and guidance to less experienced staff is crucial.
You will be agile in your approach, and your ability to move into projects at short notice and deliver high-quality work output will be essential.
